A bit of current events. A bit of book show & tell. A bit about imperialism. Then we went to the library to continue working on topical projects.

I shared several current events, we had some discussion.

I handed out an article called "Beyond Black History" written by Cecil Prescod in the February Portland Alliance which I consider to be an excellent piece of writing. I gave an assignment related to it.

We watched another 15 minutes of the Hawaii video up to the point where Queen Lilioukalani is pressured to abdicate the throne.

Assignment: read "Beyond Black History" and write reasons why Matt would be proud for his students to write like this.
